Our Work

Encyclopedia of Catholic Theology

Overview

Eyepatch Design was commissioned to design the cover artwork for the Catholic Handbooks series, a collection of accessible, faith-based guides published by the ECT. While the original logo was created by an external artist, we digitized and refined it, then developed a cohesive branding system to unify the series and extend across digital and print platforms. We also created the initial layout designs for their website and online branding.

Approach

The cover design system was built with both unity and thematic flexibility in mind. Each book follows a standardized layout: the bottom third features a consistent typographic treatment for the title and author, providing clear visual branding across the series. The upper two-thirds of each cover showcases a carefully selected piece of classic sacred artwork that reflects the topic of the handbook—creating an immediate visual connection to the Church’s rich aesthetic and theological heritage. The overall design emphasizes clarity, reverence, and timelessness, aligning with the mission of making Catholic teaching approachable without sacrificing depth.
